Accumulation of Merit and Wisdom
By having His Holiness here, we have the opportunity to practice the first paramita, generosity: to make offerings to essentially the Buddha himself. We don't usually have this opportunity and who knows if we will have it again.
Therefore, select a category at right.

"In three nights and four days, my karma and obscurations were purified. I realized the cause and effect of interdependent origination. The treasure of the profound tantra revealed itself. In the oneness of the great luminosity, the two fixations of meditation and activity were purified!
I recognize that I am (now) a lord of yogins."
-Jigten Sumgon.
(Written at the age of thirty-five, he sang this song upon attaining enlightenment.)
Five-fold Mahamudra Torma Empowerment
Saturday 10am - Noon; Place: Regent Theatre, Arlington Center, MA (next to Starbucks) 7 Medford Street.Tickets are still available at the venues, doors open at 9am. Directions
The Drikung Kagyu lineage is the main holder of a system of Mahamudra practice first taught by Gampopa‚ main disciple, Phakmo Drupa and later by Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon (founder of the DrikungKagyu). This system, known as the Five-fold Mahamudra, presents a complete path to enlightenment in five essential parts: generating the mind of enlightenment (bodhicitta), arising as the deity, practicing guru-yoga, meditating on Mahamudra and dedicating the merit and wisdom. This empowerment gives us permission to practice this profound system of spiritual realization. The empowerment utilizes a torma (a ritual cake) that represents Cakrasamvara, the highest yoga tantra deity.
Teachings on Jigten Sumgon's Vajra-songs
Saturday 2pm - 5pm; Place: Regent Theatre, Arlington Center, MA (next to Starbucks) 7 Medford Street.Tickets are still available at the venues, doors open at 9am. Directions
Jigten Sumgon wrote many poetic songs of spiritual realization and was considered to be fully enlightened, a buddha. His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche has been reincarnating as a Drikung Kagyu lineage holder since the 17th century and is the direct lineage holder of Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon. Jigten Sumgon prophesied repeatedly, "In the future my teachings will flourish by the two Bodhisattvas (Chetsang & Chungtsang), who are like the sun and the moon, through their compassion and wisdom." It is very special to receive teachings on Jigten Sumgon from His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche.
Sunday, September 5
Join us for a day of healing and being empowered by overcoming the fear of death.
This fear is natural, but we don't have to accept ourselves as powerlessness.
The Dharma teaches us that we can heal, and we can use inevitable death to our advantage.
We may not be able to control the moment of our death, but we can use it to
attain the ultimate freedom. Receiving these teachings from His Holiness
Chetsang Rinpoche is extremely important and precious. May all benefit!
Amitayus Empowerment: Healing & Restoring
Sunday 10am - Noon; Place: Regent Theatre, Arlington Center, MA (next to Starbucks) 7 Medford Street. Tickets are still available at the venues, doors open at 9am. Directions
Amitayus, the "Buddha of Boundless Life", holds a vase filled with the nectar of life-energy.
By gaining this empowerment and engaging in this practice, we repair our life-force that has been damaged. Also, by doing this practice on a daily basis, we gain the necessary merit and connection to be reborn in Buddha Amitabha's pureland.
Great Drikung Phowa Transmission & Teachings
Sunday 2pm - 5pm; Place: Regent Theatre, Arlington Center, MA (next to Starbucks) 7 Medford Street. Tickets are still available at the venues, doors open at 9am. Directions
Phowa is the practice of using the moment of death to our advantage. Through this practice, we can attain a better rebirth or even enlightenment. "The profound practice of Phowa is the only method to attain enlightenment forcefully by even a sinful one, in an instant projection without need of long and diligent meditation practice."
