Kiera Van Gelder's brilliant memoir The Buddha and the Borderline reads like an internal On the Road- transfixing to the last drop. Hysterically funny, shocking and a wild ride from the start, we are taken from depths of the hellish suffering of Borderline Personality Disorder to the highs of the recovery process through the discovery of Buddha-Nature. This masterfully insightful memoir chronicles Kiera's diagnosis with and recovery process from the often heavily stigmatized disorder. The Drikung Meditation Center specifically, and Tibetan Buddhism in general are featured in this cutting-edge book as possible solutions to a difficult to treat mental illness.

Keira

Courageously and with bodhicitta, it was written with the intent to help those with BPD, their families, and all of humanity who share these painful traits to varying degrees. As we read this riveting tale, we realize that these are sufferings that we ourselves have shared and may reach the conclusion that actually, there may be a little Borderline in all of us! Highly praised, acclaimed, and pronounced a classic by mental health professionals, The Buddha and the Borderline has not yet been reviewed by the mainstream and literary world. We are predicting a best-seller!
